MANCHESTER - State Senator Donna Soucy is proud to announce her support for the Five Point Plan to combat the opioid crisis laid out by New Futures, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on preventing and reducing drug and alcohol misuse in New Hampshire. By outlining five goals - restore the alcohol fund, support permanent medicaid expansion, invest in evidence informed prevention programs, advance behavioral workforce development, and remove barriers to insurance coverage - New Futures presents a comprehensive plan to not only prevent opioid misuse, but also to give those affected by addiction the resources to overcome their addiction and stay clean.
“I endorse New Futures’ Five Point Plant because, while we in the State Senate have worked hard to pass bipartisan legislation to combat this crisis, there is still so much more to do,” said Senator Soucy on Monday. “The opioid crisis is one of the biggest challenges we have to face and overcome in New Hampshire, especially here in Manchester where over a quarter of New Hampshire drug overdoses happen,” Soucy continued.
“We can’t afford to let Granite Staters down, and I won’t let my constituents down. That’s why I endorse this plan.”
