On Thursday, State Senator Donna Soucy announced that she has received the endorsement of the New Hampshire Building and Construction Trades Council. The Council is an organization of 16 New Hampshire labor unions, representing more than 2,000 New Hampshire workers in the construction industry.
As a teacher and a leader in my local union, which is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers-New Hampshire, I was very proud to see that my friend, state Sen. Donna Soucy, received the endorsement of AFT-NH.

Protecting Property Rights Requires Avoiding Unintended Consequences
This year, the legislature considered and debated HB 1660, which had two components. First, it enacted much more strict protections for eminent domain takings for interstate pipelines and second, it enacted energy efficiency reforms that would have reduced energy costs for businesses and homeowners.
And while I supported both concepts, the final version of HB 1660 was unacceptable and I joined a bipartisan majority in the Senate by voting against the bill for a few reasons.
